To integrate your CallHippo account with intercom follow the below steps.

Firstly, note your CallHippo User Id by logging into your CallHippo account. Go to the users page in CallHippo and click on Main User. It will redirect you to the user settings page. Now copy the highlighted portion shown in the image below and note it down.





Setup Intercom App:

Step 1 - Log in to your intercom account you want to integrate with CallHippo. Step 2 - Now click on the bottom left profile icon and click on Settings. 

Step 3 - Now in the settings tab, click on the Apps & Integrations and then click on Developers Hub.

Step 4 - On the next page, click on the New App button.

  1. Set the name of your own choice.

  2. In the select dropdown, select your workspace you want to integrate.

  3. Then select the Public App radio button and click on Create Your app is now created.




Step 5 - Now click on the Basic information tag in the configure tab and note down your Client ID and Client secret. (you will need this while integration in CallHippo).





Step 6 - Now click on the Authentication menu and click on the Edit button in the top right corner. 


Step 7 - Now select the checkbox beside Use OAuth and click on “ +Add Redirect URL”


Step 8 - Now enter “https://web.callhippo.com/integrations” and click on save button in top right corner.


Step 11 - Now click on the save button. 


CallHippo Integration Setup:

Step 1 - Go to the integrations page and under Intercom, click on the Connect button in the popup that opens. Enter your Client ID, Client Secret and App ID you got from above Step 5 and click on save.





Step 2 - You will be redirected to the Intercom permission page. Now click on the authorize access button and you will again be redirected to your CallHippo account. Your integration status will be changed to Integrated.

Step 3 - Once the integration is completed. Your status will change to  Integrated. You have successfully integrated your CallHippo account with Intercom.

All your existing contacts will be synced with CallHippo automatically.

To sync new contacts you need to setup a webhook in Intercom as described below.

Intercom Webhook Setup:

Step 1 - Click on the Webhooks tag of intercom. Under Your request endpoint URL enter

“https://activity.callhippo.com/integration/users/xyz/intercom/webhook/intercomevent” 

( Replace “xyz“ with your CallHippo user ID you noted earlier).




Step 2 - Now under Webhook topics dropdown select below listed events:

  1. contact.lead.created

  2. contact.lead.updated

  3. contact.user.created

  4. contact.user.updated

  5. contact.deleted

  6. conversation.admin.single.created

  7. conversation.user.created

Step 3 - Click on Save button








Your Intercom integration with CallHippo is successfully completed.

Integration Features:

  • Call activity will be sent to Intercom recent events for any call made to Intercom contact.

  • SMS activity will be sent to Intercom recent events for any SMS send/received from Intercom contact.

  • Any new contact created in the intercom will be automatically synced in the CallHippo dialer.

  • You can make outbound calls to your contact directly from your intercom account by installing CallHippo Click to call extension.
