To integrate your CallHippo account with intercom follow the below steps.


Notes

  • Make sure the user with owner access on both CallHippo and Intercom accounts can integrate the CallHippo <> Intercom. 

  • Ensure that OAuth and webhook permissions are enabled in Intercom. Full access to settings is required.

  • Data synchronization is almost instantaneous, but it may take a few minutes for initial sync of existing contacts.

What to do at provider side to integrate


Steps to Setup Integration at Intercom:


1. Log in to Intercom: Use the account you wish to integrate with CallHippo. {Owner account is preferable.}



2. Navigate to Settings: Click on the Settings icon in the bottom left corner.




3. Access Integrations: Click on Integrations and then Developers Hub.



4. Create New App: Click on the New App button.


 

Set a name and select the desired workspace.



Click on create app button. Your app will be created successfully.


5. Note Client ID and Client Secret: In the Basic Information tab, note down the Client ID and Client Secret.



6. Note down the AppId: From the Intercom URL copy the highlighted part. It is needed for integrating intercom with callhippo.



7. Enable OAuth: In the Authentication menu, edit settings to select the Use OAuth checkbox.



  


Add Redirect URL: `https://web.callhippo.com/integrations`. Save changes.




Steps to follow for Integration at CallHippo:


1. Navigate to Integrations: Go to the integrations page on CallHippo and find Intercom.



2. Connect Intercom: Click on the Connect button.



Paste the Client ID, Client Secret, and App ID from Intercom.



Click on connect now.


3. Authorize Access: You will be redirected to Intercom to authorize access.



Once authorized, you will be redirected back to CallHippo with the status set to Integrated.



Successfully integrated your CallHippo account with Intercom.


By clicking on the call icon we can assign those numbers to intercom for which we intend to push activities into the intercom.






Settings of Integration (Intercom Webhook Setup)

All your existing contacts will be synced with CallHippo automatically. To sync new contacts you need to setup a webhook in Intercom as described below.


1. Configure Webhook: Click on the Webhooks tab in Intercom.


  

Enter the request endpoint URL:  First obtain the callhippo user ID. You can get this from Profile > additional settings.



Paste this URL https://activity.callhippo.com/integration/users/xyz/intercom/webhook/intercomevent (replace `xyz` with your CallHippo user ID).



2. Select Webhook Topics:

   - Choose the following events:

     - `contact.lead.created`

     - `contact.lead.updated`

     - `contact.user.created`

     - `contact.user.updated`

     - `contact.deleted`

     - `conversation.admin.single.created`

     - `conversation.user.created`



3. Save Settings: Save the webhook configuration.



Integration Features

  • Automatic Sync: Existing and new contacts in Intercom sync automatically with CallHippo. The contacts can be found in callhippo dialer’s contacts tab.
  • Outbound Calls: Make calls directly from Intercom using CallHippo Click to Call extension.
  • Call and SMS Activity Logs: Intercom logs all call and SMS activities related to contacts.
