The Do Not Call (DNC) feature in CallHippo allows you to block specific phone numbers to prevent unwanted communication. This feature helps protect your team from spam calls and ensures agents only engage with relevant or approved contacts.

With DNC, you can restrict:

  • Outgoing Calls to prevent your team from calling certain numbers.

  • Incoming Calls to block calls from spam or blacklisted numbers.

  • Both Incoming and Outgoing Calls for complete two-way call blocking.

Key Use Cases

  • Spam Prevention: Automatically block known spam numbers to safeguard your team.

  • Compliance with Local Regulations: Avoid contacting numbers listed on national DNC registries.

  • Internal Controls: Manage communication standards by blocking specific numbers internally.

Managing DNC Contacts

All users can add or remove numbers from the DNC list, making it easy to maintain and update blocked contacts as needed. Bulk import and export of DNC lists are supported for efficient management.

Important note:

Blocking numbers via DNC applies to both calls and SMS, covering incoming and outgoing messages.

How to enable the DNC feature to block unwanted incoming and outgoing calls from the dashboard?

1. Log in to your CallHippo dashboard.

2. Click on the "Settings" option at the top of the dashboard.

5. You have the option to select from three DNC categories:

  • Outgoing calls: Block only outgoing calls to the number you entered.

  • Both: Block both incoming and outgoing calls to the number you entered.

6. Once the number is entered and the required option is selected, click on the save icon to block the number.

How to unblock a number?

1. Click on the red colored delete button next to the number you want to unblock.

2. Click on ‘Yes’ to unblock the number.

The number is now unblocked.

How to block numbers in bulk?

You can bulk block numbers by uploading a CSV file that contains the phone numbers along with the corresponding DNC category (Incoming, Outgoing, or Both). This is especially useful for applying large-scale restrictions efficiently—whether for compliance, spam prevention, or internal control.

Once uploaded, the system processes the list and adds each number to the DNC list according to the specified blocking type. This helps you manage DNC entries faster and with minimal manual input.

1. Click on the ‘Import’ button.

2. Click on ‘Download Template’ to check the template of the CSV/XLSX file accepted by the system.

3. Once a file with the correct format is ready, you can upload the file and click on Import to block numbers in bulk.

When sending an SMS to a blocked number:
