CallHippo pricing is simple and flexible. It’s primarily based on:

  • Seats (user slots) in your account
  • Phone numbers added to your account

CallHippo follows an auto-renewal billing system, which means:

  • You must keep at least one primary payment method added to your account
  • Auto-renewal cannot be disabled

What is a Seat?

seat is a user slot in your CallHippo account.

  • You are billed based on the number of seats, not on how many users are actively using them
  • By default, each user = one seat
  • Adding a user automatically adds a seat and updates billing
  • Unused seats remain billable unless you update the seat count after deleting the user and before the next billing date.
    Example:
    If your plan has 5 seats but only 2 active users, you’ll still be billed for 5 seats.

What Are the Per-Seat Charges?

The prices shown on the CallHippo pricing page are per-seat charges:

Example:

  • Starter Plan (US & Canada): $25 per seat
  • If you have 4 seats, your monthly charge = $25 × 4 = $100


Additional Charges You Should Know About

 1. Phone Number Charges

  • Each user gets 1 free standard number
  • As long as users = standard numbers, there’s no extra charge
  • Always add the user first, then assign the number

Extra charges apply if:

  • You add more standard numbers than users

Example:
 2 users + 3 standard numbers → the 3rd number is chargeable

2. Number Replacement Within the Same Billing Cycle

If you remove a number and add a new one in the same billing cycle, the new number will be charged on Pro-rated billed as additional.

Examples:

  • 4 users / 3 numbers → delete 1 + add 1 → still within limit (no extra charge)
  • 2 users / 2 numbers → delete 1 + add 1 → treated as a 3rd number and charged
  • Number counts reset at the start of the next billing cycle

3. Premium Number Charges

  • Premium numbers are not included in the free standard number benefit
  • They are always charged separately

Example:
Even if you haven’t used all your free standard numbers, a premium number will still be billed.

4. Add-On Charges

 Add-ons are optional features that enhance your plan and can be added anytime (except during trial).

  • Available for all plans
  • Fully flexible
  • Billed separately

5. Calling Credits

Calling credits work like prepaid balance and are used when usage goes beyond your plan.

Credits are used when:

  • Calling countries not covered in your plan

  • Sending or receiving SMS (beyond “free SMS” limit, if applied within the plan)
  • Free minutes are exhausted
  • Calling premium numbers
  • Forwarding calls to external numbers not included in your plan
