Local Presence helps you connect more effectively by displaying a local number when you make a call.
For instance, if you have both US and UK numbers in your dialer, calling a US contact will automatically show your US number, while a call to the UK will display your UK number.

Why does it matter?
People are naturally more inclined to answer calls from familiar area codes. By appearing local, you boost the chances of your call being picked up, leading to higher response rates.

Important point:

  • This feature is only helpful if you have multiple country numbers in your account.

  • If you’re calling a country for which you don’t have a local number, CallHippo will automatically choose the number from your account that offers the best connectivity to that destination, based on system intelligence and call routing data.

Steps to enable Local Presence:

1. Log in to your CallHippo dialer.

2. Click on "Numbers" (located under the dial button)

3. Click on the checkbox to enable the “Local Presence” feature for your account.

“Local Presence” is now enabled.

Some basic queries related to the Local Presence feature:

Q: Why should I use Local Presence?

A: It increases the chances of your calls being answered by showing a local number, which improves your outreach effectiveness.

Q: How does Local Presence work when I'm calling different countries?

A: Local Presence automatically recognizes the country you're calling based on the number you dial. If you have a local number for that country in your account, it will use that one to display, so your call looks familiar and local to the person picking up.

Q: What happens if I call a country for which I don’t have a local number?

A: If you do not have a local number for the country you’re calling, CallHippo will use the default number set in your account to place the call.

Q: Do I need to have multiple phone numbers to use Local Presence?

A: Yes, this feature only works if you have local numbers from multiple countries in your account.

Q: Will enabling Local Presence affect my inbound call settings?

A: No, it only affects outbound calls by selecting the appropriate local number for each call.

Q: Can I disable Local Presence after enabling it?

A: Yes, you can uncheck the feature in the “Numbers” section of your dialer to disable it.
