In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to access and download your SMS logs from the dashboard.


Steps to download the SMS logs:


1. Log in to your CallHippo dashboard.


2. Click on the SMS / MMS logs visible on the left of the dashboard.



3. Click on the green “Filter” icon to select the date range and other requirements for the call logs that you need to download.


Note: By default, the date range for the call logs is set for a week (7 days).




4. Once you click on the filter option, you can choose to filter the call logs on multiple options, such as:

  • Department: Select the specific number for which you want to view SMS logs, regardless of whether the messages are incoming or outgoing.

  • Select Country: Choose the country for which you want to download the SMS logs.

  • From Number: Enter the number from which the call was made (caller’s number).

  • To Number: Enter the number to which the call was made (receiver’s number).

  • SMS Type: Choose to filter by incoming messages, outgoing messages, or both.

  • From Date / To Date: Filter call logs within a specific date range as per your requirement.

Important note: 

  • You can view call logs on the dashboard for a maximum date range of 90 days (3 months).

  • If you select a date range beyond 90 days, the call logs will be sent to your registered email address.



5. Once all the parameters are selected as per your requirement, click on “Apply”.




6. Once the filter is filter is applied, click on the blue colored download option.




7. Check and uncheck all the options that you want in the downloaded SMS logs as per the requirement.




8. If you want to check the call costs for the calls made, make to select the “call cost” option.




9. Click on the “download now” button to download the SMS logs for the applied filter.



Your SMS logs have now been downloaded in an XLS file. 


10. To check the SMS costs, you can open the file and check the column named “Cost” and check its sum as visible in the screenshot below:

Q: How can I check how much I’ve spent on SMS messages?

A: While downloading the SMS logs, make sure to select the “Cost” column before exporting the file. After downloading, open the XLS file and review the “Cost” column to see how much was spent on each message. You can sum the column to get the total cost.


Q: What should I do if I don’t see the logs for a specific number or date range?

A: Make sure the correct filters are applied, especially the number, date range, and SMS type. Also, ensure the date range does not exceed 90 days; otherwise, the logs will be sent to your registered email.

Q: How can I schedule an automated message?
A: CallHippo does not currently support scheduling automated SMS messages.

Q: How do I see how many text messages I have sent today?
A: To view the number of SMS messages sent today, go to the SMS / MMS logs in your CallHippo dashboard, apply today’s date in the filter, and select “Outgoing” under SMS Type. Once applied, you’ll see a list of messages sent for the selected date.

Q: Where can I check how many free SMS messages I have used?
A: To check the number of free SMS messages utilized, log in to your CallHippo Web Dashboard and go to the 'Plan & Billing' section from the top right corner of your screen. Under the 'Plan' tab, you’ll find details related to your current plan, including the number of free SMS messages used.
