The "Restrict Incoming Calls" is a functionality in the CallHippo user settings that, when enabled, prevents the user from receiving any incoming calls on all their devices.

You can find the "Restrict Incoming Calls" toggle under the User Settings in CallHippo. It is located below the Availability module in the sidebar.

Steps to enable the ‘Restrict Incoming Calls’ feature:

1. Log in to your CallHippo dashboard.

2. Navigate to the “Users and Performance” section on the left side of the screen and then click on the Users.

3. Click on the settings icon of the user for whom you want to restrict the incoming calls.

4. Click on the ‘Restrict Incoming Calls’ options visible on the left side of the dashboard.

5. Click on the toggle to enable/disable the incoming calls for that user.

When the "Restrict Incoming Calls" toggle is enabled:

  • The user will not receive any incoming calls.

  • No incoming calls will be served to any device (web, mobile, or desktop) of the user.

  • The user will still receive auto dialer calls, transfer calls, and extension calls.

  • The Forward to Device (FTD) feature in user settings becomes ineffective as no incoming calls are allowed.

When the "Restrict Incoming Calls" toggle is disabled:

  • The incoming calls will be received normally based on the set availability.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: What does the "Restrict Incoming Calls" feature do exactly?
A: When enabled, this feature blocks all incoming calls from reaching the user on any device—whether it's web, mobile, or desktop. The user won't receive regular incoming calls until it's turned off.

Q: Why am I not receiving any incoming calls even though my availability is set correctly?
A: This might happen if the "Restrict Incoming Calls" toggle is enabled in your user settings. When it's on, incoming calls won’t come through regardless of your availability status.

Q: I enabled "Forward to Device," but I’m still not getting calls. What could be the issue?
A: The "Forward to Device" feature becomes inactive if "Restrict Incoming Calls" is turned on. You’ll need to disable the restriction for FTD to work again.

Q: If I turn off "Restrict Incoming Calls," will my calls come through right away?
A: Yes, once you disable the toggle, incoming calls will resume as per your availability settings.

Q: Can an admin enable or disable this setting for other users?
A: Yes, an admin can access user settings and enable or disable the "Restrict Incoming Calls" toggle for any user in the account.

Q: Will the user in my account still receive transferred or auto-dialer calls if incoming calls are restricted?

A: Yes, even if incoming calls are restricted for a user in your account, they will still receive transfer calls, auto dialer calls, and extension calls.
